Ragnarok: Aliens VERSUS Necromorphs

Last time on Ragnarok, Ash Williams managed to make it out of Silent Hill alive.  Welcome to:
Today's Match:

Aliens VERSUS Necromorphs

The Rules:
Imagine the movie 'Aliens,' except this time, the poor mining colony has a bunch of aliens working from one end, trying to capture the colonists alive so that they can impregnate them and build their Alien hive, and a bunch of Necromorphs working from the other end, trying to kill the colonists so they can take over their bodies.  The two nasty alien species collide and duke it out.  Whichever one kills the other's Queen/Hive Mind wins.  We will assume for the sake of this battle that Aliens cannot impregnate Necromorphs, and Necromorphs can't take over Alien's dead bodies.

Arguments:
Aliens:
These guys explode in a hail of acid when you attack them.  And this isn't your normal, every-day acid.  It's SUPER acid.  Every time a Necro kills an Alien, they kill themselves and every other Necro in the area.  So in addition to the Aliens scoring a few victories while alive, they are killing every Necro that kills them.  In the end, the Aliens win.

Necromorphs:
An Alien has the difficult task of building their numbers by capturing humans and then keeping them alive long enough to impregnate them and have a chest-burster hatch out.  A Necro can grab any old dead body that happens to be lying around and infect it.  For that matter, they can grab the used-up husks of the people the Aliens finished impregnating and then turn THEM into Necros.  The Aliens will never get the chance to build their numbers large enough to be a threat to the Necros, and even if they do, every human they used as a womb will be another Necro coming after them.  Necros win.

Now vote, you fools!

  1. good post i am going to go with aliens just because they are smarter than a necromorph, because they can use tactics and are not afraid to sacrifice there own to win a battle so the first few battle will go like 3 necros vs 1 alien if the alien explodes that's 3 necros to take out one alien so thats 3:1 ratio also depending on the alien you choose i think the newer ones have a nasty tail whip that can cut a man in two or at least remove appendages so my vote the alien not too mention once they are aware of there enemies they will do what they can to stop there incubators from being killed one thing as well it will be a hard battle for both creatures as they have one variable the humans who will fight back so lets say if the humans are in suspended animation then the aliens if not in suspended animation still aliens but it will be a giant pain in the ass

  2. Ok, so i had no idea who the necromorphs are, so i did some research. I am going to give this the the necros for these reasons. Aliens rarely blow up for one, even when they do it was caused by something explosive or some serious blunt force trama. Even if and when they do blow up, from what i read of necros, the only way to "kill" them is to dismember them to the point they cannot do any more harm. Kind of like magical zombies. A spray of acid will leave some parts in tact. There is even one class of necro that is basicly cunks of flesh come to life that attack in swarms. Plus, necros can build their numbers much quicker than aliens, and if the main argument for aliens is they explode in death, guess what, so do 2 classes of necros, so its a moot point. I can go on, but as far as i see it, necros take this. Not without a fight, the aliens can kick some but with their tails and claws, but necros still take it. This suck of course, because i like aliens, and didnt know what the necromorphs were until now, but it looks like they are some bad hombres. I think the big determaning factor in this fight is how big does each side start at, and what resorces (humans) are available. The more humans, but better then necros chance because of how quickly they transform them.

  3. As a fan of both alien and dead space, I was split on this decision. But after much consideration I have come to the conclusion that the necromorphs would win in this battle. Both species are sneak-attack and swarm based combatants who love setting traps and moving around through vents. They both use humans to replenish their ranks, which leads to the first issue. An alien needs to capture a live human, drag them back to the hive, impregnant them with a face hugger, wait through the gestation period, and protect the vulnerable chestburster while it matures. A necromorph on the other hand is created on the spot, in a matter of seconds, and the host can be living or dead. Aliens are used to fighting humans who are afraid of them and attempt to hold out in one area. The only time you will find a static necromorph is if they are playing dead, which leads to another advantage. Aliens are blind and see through their sense of smell. A necromorph lying on the ground would appear to be a wounded human, which the alien would drag back to the hive for impregnation, only to discover that it was a trick to begin an attack from within the hive. The aliens will be preoccupied protecting their queen while the necromorphs are preparing the assault. In battle necromorphs have a partial upper hand, an alien can be killed by body trauma, a necromorph cannot. An aliens acid is used to hurt opponents for impregnation, not to kill, it has only limited effect against organic material thus making it worthless against necromorphs. Without their long range acid attacks, the necromorphs will have the benefit of distance. A ravager type alien would be the biggest threat against the necromorphs, but even the ravager would be hardpressed in battle against a tormentor or a brute. The aliens ability to violently explode is brought on by fire, which necromorphs don't use. Necromorphs, like the flood from Halo, use a central intelligence called the hivemind. This hivemind in addition to having control over the necromorph swarm, it is rather formidable, and large. But even more powerful than the hivemind is the marker. The effect it would have on the aliens would be unknown, but it is certain that the marker affects all living things. Well that's all I have to say about that, I'm surprised your still reading this. Vote necromorph!
